Hebrews 4:14 - [14] Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
The writer of Hebrews, having made mention of Christ as the High Priest in Chapter 4, now proceeds in Chapter 5 (and in other related Old and New Testament Scriptures) to give an account generally of the qualifications for serving as the High Priest and the duties of the High Priest, and then applies the character of the High Priest to Christ.
The author shows that Jesus is the High Priest of another order than the Aaronic priesthood. In this Chapter we will see that Jesus is High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (hisspirit.org)
